Using Security With Rose, Group Help or Combot

Run Doublegram Security next to Rose, Group Help or Combot in one Telegram group: what to keep on each bot, compatibility mode, and how to avoid punishing twice.

Open Doublegram Security

Yes: Doublegram Security works in the same Telegram group as Rose, Group Help or Combot. Keep the other bot for what your team already uses it for, let Security take care of who joins and of the defenses, and give each job to one bot only. For moderation commands, Security has a compatibility mode, so nobody is punished twice.

Split the work

Security covers the door and the defenses: the verification of whoever joins, join requests, Antiraid, Antiflood, Antispam, banned words, alphabets, explicit images and the Country firewall. Keep on the other bot what Security doesn't do, and whatever your admins are used to.

When both bots can do the same thing, turn it on in one of them only:

  • Verification: one check at the door is enough. If the other bot has a captcha, turn it off there.
  • Welcome: Security greets whoever passes the verification. To keep the other bot's welcome, turn off Welcome after verification in 🚪 Member entry → 💬 Group messages.
  • Floods, spam and words: two antifloods or two word filters punish the same message twice. Pick one bot for each.

Security's filters skip messages sent by bots, so the other bot's own messages are left alone.

Why commands can clash

Telegram sends every command to every bot in the group. A plain /ban reaches Rose and Security together: if both answer, the person is punished twice.

Security's commands start off. As long as Commands is off in 🔨 Moderation, Security ignores /ban, /mute and the rest, and the other bot handles them alone.

Compatibility mode

To use the commands of both bots, turn on compatibility mode. It's in 🔨 Moderation, which is part of Doublegram Premium (see Security Premium for your group).

  1. In the group, send /settings and open 🔨 Moderation.
  2. Turn on 🔴 Commands.
  3. Turn on 🔴 🤝 Compatibility mode, right below.

From then on Security only answers commands written with its name, like /ban@doublegram_captcha_bot or /mute@doublegram_captcha_bot 2h, and a plain /ban stays with the other bot. The menu says it too: 🤝 Compatibility mode is on. For groups that also use Rose, GroupHelp or another moderation bot: Security only answers commands addressed to it, like /ban@doublegram_captcha_bot. Plain /ban stays theirs, and nobody is punished twice.

While it's on, the switches of the single commands are hidden and kept: turn compatibility mode off and they count again. It only changes the 11 moderation commands, listed in Moderation commands: /settings, /verify, /raid and /firewall work as before.

What compatibility mode doesn't do

  • It doesn't understand the other bot's commands. Security has no /tban, /tmute, /purge or /report: for a ban with a time, write the time after Security's command, like /ban@doublegram_captcha_bot 7d.
  • It doesn't share settings or warnings: warnings given with the other bot and with Security are counted apart.

Bans given by the other bot

Security sees every ban in the group, whoever gives it. Someone banned by the other bot no longer counts that group for Network Trust. In a community, Every punishment in the group in ⚙️ Shared punishments carries the other bot's bans and mutes to your other chats too: ⚠️ With this choice, another moderation bot in one of your groups decides for the whole community.
