Telegram Welcome Message and "Joined the Group" Messages

Set the welcome message Doublegram Security shows after verification, choose who sees it, and delete Telegram's "joined the group" messages on their own.

Open Doublegram Security

When someone passes the verification, Doublegram Security turns its message in the group into a welcome. You can write your own Telegram welcome message, show it only to the new member, have it delete itself, and remove Telegram's "joined the group" messages too. All of this is free.

Where to find it

Send /settings in the group → 🚪 Member entry → 💬 Group messages. It covers Security's notices, such as verification passed or member removed, and Telegram's join messages.

The welcome message

Welcome after verification is on by default, with this text: ✅ Anna passed the verification and can now write in the group. Welcome! To write your own:

  1. Tap ✏️ Change the text.
  2. Within 5 minutes, send the new text in the group, up to 1,000 characters. {user} becomes the person's name and {group} the group's name. HTML works: <b> for bold, <a href> for links.
  3. Security answers ✅ Welcome saved. Your message stays in the chat: delete it if you don't want it there.

For example: 👋 Welcome to {group}, {user}! The rules are pinned at the top. ↩️ Back to default brings back the standard text.

With the welcome off, whoever passes gets in with no message, and the verification message disappears. People who get in through Network Trust, without a new check, see ✅ Anna is already verified in other protected groups and can write right away. instead of your text. In groups with join requests, 📬 Where sends the welcome in the group, in private or both. See Telegram join requests.

Who sees them

  • 👁 Who sees them: everyone (default): the welcome and the removal notices are normal messages.
  • 🥷 Who sees them: only the person concerned: each message is seen only by the person it's about, and disappears on its own.

The verification request always stays visible to everyone. A message only one person can see sends no notification, so a newcomer could miss it and be removed for nothing. See How Security checks new members.

Messages that delete themselves

With They delete themselves on, the welcome and the removal notices disappear after the time in ⏱ After: from 1 to 60 minutes, 1 by default. The verification request stays until the person verifies or is removed. In "only the person concerned" mode the switch isn't there, because those messages already disappear.

Delete Telegram's "joined the group" messages

Turn on Delete join messages and Security removes Telegram's "joined the group" notice, right away or after a delay of up to 24 hours, set in ⏱ After. It works even with verification off. Only join messages go: people leaving, photo changes and pinned messages stay.

Security needs the Delete messages permission for this. Without it, the menu says ⚠️ Security can't delete messages here: it needs the Delete messages permission.

Media hold for newcomers

🖼 Media hold, also in 🚪 Member entry, stops new members from sending photos, videos, files, voice notes, stickers or GIFs for their first 5 messages, while text goes through. When it applies, the welcome adds a line that says so. It's part of Doublegram Premium: see Block explicit images and media from new members.
