Can't Get Into a Group? How to Pass the Verification

If you just joined a Telegram group and can't write, the group uses Doublegram Security: you need to pass a quick verification first. Find the message that greets you by name, tap Verify me and wait a few seconds. There's no puzzle, and you don't need an account.

How to pass the verification

1. In the group, find the message that starts with 👋 Hi and your name. It says how many minutes you have.
2. Tap Verify me. A page opens inside Telegram, with the group's photo and name.
3. Wait while it says Verifying…. If it says Tap the box to continue, tap the box.
4. If the group has rules, a quiz or questions, go through them (see below).
5. When the green check appears, you're in. If the page shows Enter and the group's name, tap it.

If you're waiting to verify in several groups with Security, one check unlocks all of them.

Rules, quiz and questions

• Group rules: read them and tap Accept and enter, or Accept and continue if more steps follow. There's no button to refuse.
• Quiz: pick the right answer. A wrong one counts as a failed verification.
• Questions: write your answer, up to 300 characters. Only the group's admins read it, never the other members.

Your answers stay saved on your phone until you send them, so closing the page by mistake doesn't lose them. In the last minute the page says Less than a minute left.

What the page tells you

Groups that approve new members

In some groups you tap Request to Join and wait for approval. The menu names change a little between Telegram apps. With Security, the check comes first:

• The page may open by itself right after you ask. After the check, tap Enter and the group's name, or wait: you get in on your own. If you closed the page, ask to join again and it opens again.
• Otherwise Security writes to you in private: 🛡 You asked to join, the group's name, how many minutes you have and Verify me.

That private message then changes:

• ✅ Verification passed: tap Open the group.
• 📨 Request sent: the admins decide.
• ⌛️ Time is up or ❌ Quiz failed: the request was declined. You can ask again whenever you like.
• 🔌 Request not accepted: several accounts are joining from your same connection right now. Ask again in a little while, or write to an admin.
• ❌ Request declined: the admins didn't let you in.

Why you can't send photos yet

Some groups hold media for newcomers: for your first messages, 5 unless the admins chose another number, you can't send photos, videos, files, voice notes, stickers or GIFs. Text works from the first message, and media come back on their own after. When the group shows a welcome, it tells you.

Apart from that, you get the same permissions as every member: if nobody in the group can send links or media, the verification doesn't change that.

Removed or blocked

If the time runs out, Security takes you out of the group. If you've started @doublegram_captcha_bot before, it also writes to you in private:

• ⌛️ Time is up: join again and retry, right away or after the wait it tells you.
• 🚫 Blocked: the admins ban whoever doesn't verify in time. If you think it's a mistake, message one of the group's admins.
