Telegram Anti-Spam Bot: How to Stop Spam in Your Group
Stop spam in your Telegram group with Doublegram Security: the join verification keeps spam bots out, and Antispam removes links, forwards and adverts.
Open Doublegram SecurityDoublegram Security stops spam in a Telegram group in two steps. The join verification keeps out the bot accounts that join only to post adverts. Antispam then checks what members send and removes links, forwarded posts and other advertising. The verification is free. Antispam is part of Doublegram Premium: see Security Premium for your group.
First line: the join verification
Most spam comes from accounts that join, post one advert and leave. With Security, whoever joins stays muted until they tap Verify me and pass a quick check. Whoever doesn't do it in time is removed. It works once an admin turns on protection by signing in to Doublegram, which is free. See How Security checks new members.
Some accounts pass the check and then post a picture advert. 🖼 Media hold stops that: see Explicit images and media from new members.
Turn on Antispam
- In the group, send
/settings. - Tap 💬 Message control, then Antispam.
- Tap 🔴 Antispam: the dot turns 🟢.
- Choose what counts as advertising: each switch has its own screen.
Without Premium the item reads Antispam · 💎 Premium: it opens so you can see the options.
Links
Links is the only switch on from the start. Choose the 🎚 Mode:
- blocklist (default): every link goes through, except the domains you list.
- allowlist: only the domains you list go through. With an empty list, every link is blocked.
To change the list, tap ✏️ Edit the list and send one message with the domains, one per line. It replaces the whole list, and your message is deleted. example.com also covers shop.example.com. Until you send it or tap ↩️ Cancel, your next message in the group within 5 minutes becomes the list.
Three more switches, all on: Block links to other Telegram channels, Block links to other Telegram groups and Block private invites (t.me/+…). With the first two on, every t.me/name link is blocked without checking where it leads, links to people and bots included. Turn one of them off and Security checks each link and blocks only the kind still on.
Forwards, quotes, buttons and more
- Forwards: posts forwarded from a channel. 🎚 From where goes further: channels only (default), channels and groups, or people too.
- Quotes: quotes of a message from another chat, the box that opens that chat when tapped. Same From where choice. Replies inside the group are never quotes.
- Buttons: messages with buttons. A person can't attach them, so they came through another bot. Any message sent through an inline bot counts, even without buttons. Security's own messages are never blocked.
- Price lists: messages with several lines that each carry a price, 3 by default (2 to 20). A price is a number next to a currency sign such as €, $ or £. In a shop or restaurant group it hits real messages.
- As a channel: messages written with a channel's identity instead of a personal account. The channel linked to the group is never touched.
Antispam doesn't look at @mentions, phone numbers or email addresses. For words that keep showing up, use Banned words.
What happens to the message and its author
- Action: Mute (default, for 1 hour), Warn, Ban or Nothing. With Mute, ⏱ Muted for goes from 1 minute to 7 days, or Until an admin unmutes them.
- Delete their messages: on by default.
- 💬 Notice to the person: by default the author alone sees 🚫 Your message was removed: it was flagged as spam or advertising. With Nothing, no notice is sent.
- 🔔 Admin alerts: admins see which rule caught the message, for example 🔔 Link blocked with the link, so they know which switch to turn off if it gets it wrong.
With Warn, warnings add up: by default 3 lead to a 1-hour mute, and each one expires after 90 days. That's set in 🔨 Moderation → ⚠️ Warnings, which shows once commands are on. See Moderation commands.
A message gets one punishment only. If Banned words or Alphabets catch it too, the heaviest one applies.
Who is never touched
Admins, anonymous admins included, and the posts of the channel linked to the group. Everyone else is checked, long-time members too. With Edited messages on (the default), edits go through the same rules: editing a harmless message later doesn't get around them.
