Block Explicit Images and Media From New Members
Remove explicit photos and stickers from your Telegram group automatically, and stop new members from sending media until they've written a few messages.
Open Doublegram SecurityDoublegram Security has two tools against unwanted images in a Telegram group. Explicit images checks the photos and stickers people post and acts on the explicit ones. 🖼 Media hold stops whoever joins from sending photos, videos, stickers or files for their first messages. Both are part of Doublegram Premium: see Security Premium for your group.
Turn on Explicit images
- In the group, send
/settings. - Tap 💬 Message control, then Explicit images.
- Tap 🔴 Explicit images filter: the dot turns 🟢.
What it checks
- Checked: photos and static stickers posted in the group.
- Not checked: GIFs, videos, video messages, animated and video stickers, images sent as files, and profile pictures.
The answer comes a few moments after the photo is posted. Detection isn't perfect: the sensitivity decides what counts as explicit.
With Edited messages on (the default), a photo added later by editing an old message is checked too. Admins then get 🔔 Explicit image added by editing: it's a known trick to get groups banned, since nobody is looking at that message anymore.
Sensitivity
Tap 🎚 Sensitivity:
- Low: exposed genitals only.
- Medium (default): also exposed breasts. Recommended.
- High: also exposed buttocks. More false positives.
Swimwear and clothed photos are never acted on.
What happens to the image and its author
- Action: Mute (default, for 1 hour), Warn, Ban or None. Tap it to switch.
- Delete their messages: on by default.
- 💬 Notice to the person: by default the author alone sees 🚫 Your image was removed: images like that are not allowed here. With None, no notice is sent.
Admins get 🔔 Explicit image blocked, with how confident the detection was, and buttons to change the outcome: ♻️ Unban after a ban, 🔊 Remove mute after a mute, 🔇 Mute and 🚫 Ban after None. Only the group's admins can use them. See Admin alerts.
To decide case by case, set Action to None and turn off Delete their messages: the image stays, and admins get the alert with the buttons.
Media hold for new members
Some accounts join, post one picture advert and leave. 🖼 Media hold stops them: /settings → 🚪 Member entry → 🖼 Media hold, then tap 🔴 Media hold. It's off by default.
- Whoever joins can't send photos, videos, files, voice notes, video messages, stickers or GIFs. Text goes through right away, and links work as the group allows them.
- Every message counts, text included. After 5 messages, media come back on their own, with the permissions the group gives everyone.
- 🔢 Messages without media changes the count, from 1 to 1000.
- It applies to everyone who joins after it's on: after the verification, through Network Trust, from approved join requests, or with the verification off. Members already in the group and admins aren't affected.
When the welcome after the verification is posted in the group, it ends with 🖼 For your first 5 messages you can't send photos, videos, files, voice notes, stickers or GIFs. Text works from the first one, and media come back on their own after. See Welcome message.
