Security Not Working? Check It With /debug

If Doublegram Security doesn't check new members or doesn't answer, send /debug in the group. One message tells you whether Security is an admin, whether it can ban users and what kind of group it's in. Then look for your case below: most problems have one of these causes.

Send /debug

Type /debug in the group, exactly like that, with nothing after it. Anyone in the group can send it, and the answer is always in English. In Security's private chat it only says This command only works in groups! If nothing comes back at all, check that Security is still in the group.

What each line means

/debug doesn't show the sign-in, Premium or the settings. For those, an admin sends /start in the group: its first lines say whether the group is protected and whether verification is on.

Security doesn't check new members

• It isn't an admin, or has no Ban users: in the group's info go to Edit → Administrators, choose Doublegram Security and turn on Ban users. The menu names change a little between Telegram apps.
• It's a basic group: set it to public in Group type and Telegram converts it into a supergroup. You can set it back to private straight after. See How to add Security to a Telegram group.
• Nobody has signed in: Security answers admins with 🛡 Security is in the group. To turn on protection, sign in to Doublegram with Telegram. It's free. Tap 🛡 Turn on protection.
• Verification is off: /settings shows ⚠️ Join verification is off: nobody checks who joins. Turn on Verification in 🚪 Member entry.
• The group approves new members: nothing shows up in the group, because Security sends the verification in private to whoever asks to join. See Telegram join requests.
• They were already in the group: Security checks people when they join. To check someone who's already inside, an admin replies to one of their messages with /verify. If they don't verify in time, they're removed like a new member.

A Premium feature does nothing

Antiflood, Antiraid, the filters, the Country firewall, Network Trust and admin alerts work only in a group with Premium, and only once protection is on. If /settings shows · 💎 Premium next to them, the group is free: the provider's subscription may have ended, Premium was released, or Security was added back by someone without it. Alerts in private reach only the admins who have started @doublegram_captcha_bot.

A command gets no answer

• Moderation commands start off. Turning them on is part of Premium: 🔨 Moderation → Commands, then each command has its own switch. A command that's off gets no answer.
• With 🤝 Compatibility mode on, Security only answers commands written for it, like /ban@doublegram_captcha_bot. Written that way, a command always reaches Security, even when it's off.
• 🚫 You do not have the right to do this in this group. You need the same permission in Telegram, such as Ban users for /ban.
• ⚠️ Security can't do this here: it needs the Ban users permission. After /del, check Delete messages instead. After /admin or /unadmin, check Add new admins.
• In the group, Security answers /start only when an admin sends it.

Privacy mode doesn't matter

Telegram's privacy mode limits what a bot reads in groups, but not when the bot is an admin: Telegram sends every message to bots that are admins. Security has to be an admin anyway, so there's nothing to change.
