One Conversation With the AI: /new, Memory and Long Chats

Your chat with @DoublegramAIBot is one conversation that goes on: the AI remembers what you said before, so make it shorter or publish it tomorrow instead work without repeating anything. When you change subject, send /new, so a question about a recipe doesn't mix with the posts for your channel.

Start a new conversation

Send /new. The bot answers 🆕 New conversation. What came before isn't used any more., and your next message starts a new conversation. The messages stay in your Telegram chat; the AI just doesn't use them any more.

Writing new conversation in a message doesn't start one: use /new.

What the AI remembers

• Until /new: everything said in the conversation, questions and answers.
• After /new: your settings, your personal instructions, the personal notes the AI saved, your saved instructions, your time zone, and what it knows about each of your chats, with its rules. See Saved instructions and notes.
• Your files: photos and files stay in the conversation with a number, so put that photo in the post works without sending it again. After /new the numbering starts again, and older files can't be used.

When you ask about your groups again, the AI reads the numbers again instead of reusing the ones from an earlier answer.

Long conversations

When a conversation gets very long, about 30,000 characters, its oldest part becomes a short summary that keeps decisions, preferences, names, and numbers with their dates, and the conversation goes on. Files from the summarized part can still be used. A long conversation doesn't cost more: every answer costs the same, 4 credits or 8 with the Max model. See How AI credits work.

For a new subject, /new still gives cleaner answers.

How long a conversation is kept

A conversation is deleted on its own 30 days after its last message, together with its summary. The settings say it too: Conversations are kept for 30 days. If you write again after 30 days of silence, the AI starts a new conversation.

Personal notes and saved instructions don't expire: they stay until you remove them. See Doublegram AI settings and privacy.
