Search Old Messages in Your Telegram Group

Find old messages in your Telegram group with Scribe: /search is free and links to each message, or ask the AI in your own words.

Open Doublegram Scribe

Scribe gives you two ways to find something said in the group: /search for the words you remember, free, and the AI for questions in your own words.

Send /search followed by what you're looking for, for example /search pizza Saturday. Scribe shows up to 8 messages with their date, and only you see the results.

Tap the date to jump to the message. In basic groups, the small ones Telegram hasn't turned into supergroups, there's no link: you see the text only.

/search also finds captions and what was said in voice messages, because transcripts are saved too. It's free, and it works even when the AI is off.

Ask the AI

When you don't remember the words, ask: @DoublegramScribeBot who shared the hotel link last week? The AI searches by words, person and date, reads what it finds and answers. It needs the group's Premium. See Ask Scribe in the chat.

How far back

As far as the group's memory goes: 7 days in free groups, and 7, 30 or 90 days with Premium, as the admins choose. Older messages are deleted and can't be found. See What Scribe remembers.

Scribe only sees the messages sent while it's in the group as an admin. What was written before can't be found.

What isn't there

  • Commands, messages from other bots and secret messages: Scribe never saves them.
  • Files: only their caption is saved, never the file.
  • The messages of someone who used /forget, up to that moment.

When nothing matches, Scribe says so with the days it searched, for example Nothing found for pizza in the last 7 days.
