Voice Transcription Limits: Free and Premium

Transcription is free in every group, up to 30 minutes a day. With the group's Premium it goes up to 120.

The limits

• Minutes a day in the group: 30 free, 120 with Premium.
• Minutes a day per person, in each group: 10 free, 40 with Premium.
• Longest voice message: 5 minutes free, 30 with Premium.
• Minutes a month, with Premium: 1,000 for whoever provides it, across all their groups.

Minutes are counted from the length of each voice message. Days start at midnight UTC, months on the 1st. /transcribe counts like any other voice message.

Files over 10 MB aren't transcribed, on either plan.

When a limit is reached

Scribe says it once, then stays quiet until the limit starts again:

• Voice message too long: in this group, voice messages up to 5 minutes are transcribed. This one comes for every voice message that's too long.
• Free transcription is over for today in this group (30 minutes a day). It starts again tomorrow.
• Anna has used today's 10 minutes of transcription in this group. The others' voice messages are still transcribed.
• This group's Premium has used its 1000 minutes of transcription for the month.

Voice messages that go over a limit stay as they are. When the limit starts again, reply to one with /transcribe to turn it into text.

On very busy days

All free groups share a daily amount of transcription. If it runs out, Scribe says Free transcription is paused until tomorrow. In Premium groups it goes on.

More minutes

With the group's Premium, Scribe transcribes 120 minutes a day, 40 per person, and voice messages up to 30 minutes long. When many voice messages are waiting, Premium groups go first. See Scribe Premium.
