Telegram Whisper: Send a Message Only One Member Can See

Some messages are for one person, but belong in the group: a code, a correction, a quick answer. With /pm, Scribe sends it in the group as a whisper, a message that only that person can see. It's free.

/whisper works exactly like /pm: use the one you prefer.

How to send a secret message

• /pm @username your text
• Reply to someone's message with /pm your text: it goes to whoever wrote that message.
• For someone without a username, type /pm, then @, pick their name from the list Telegram shows, and write.

Photos, videos, GIFs, voice messages, audio and files work too: send them with /pm in the caption. Text can be up to 3,500 characters, captions up to 800.

What the other person sees

A message in the group that only they can see: 🤫 Marco writes to you in secret, followed by your text. You get a confirmation that only you can see: ✅ Sent in secret to Anna: nobody else can see it.

Scribe also alerts them in its private chat, if they've started it. If they never have, it tags them in the group, without showing anything else.

The message is in their language if they picked one in Scribe's private chat, and in the group's language otherwise.

Answer in secret

Reply to the secret message with /pm and your text: it reaches only the sender. The conversation can go on like this for 24 hours, and inside it you can also send stickers and video messages as replies.

Who you can write to

With @username, the person must have written in the group at least once. Otherwise Scribe says @anna isn't among the people who have written in this group.

You can't send a secret message to yourself, and anonymous admins can't send them.

Keep Telegram up to date

Secret messages use Telegram's newest kind of message, the one only one person can see. In an up-to-date app, your /pm command is hidden from the others too. If your app shows it to everyone, Scribe tries to delete it, and if it can't, it tells you that your /pm stayed visible.

Never saved

Secret messages aren't saved in the group's memory, the AI never sees them, and secret voice messages aren't transcribed. For the 24 hours of a conversation, Scribe only keeps who is talking to whom, never what was said.
