Scribe Settings: Language, Time Zone and Who Can Change Them

Scribe's settings are in the group itself: an admin sends /start and taps ⚙️ Settings. There's nothing to set up anywhere else.

What's in the settings

The AI settings can be chosen before the group has Premium: they apply as soon as it's on.

Change the group's language

Under the /start menu there's a row of flags: English, Italian, Spanish, French and German. Tap one and Scribe's messages and menus in the group switch to that language. The same flags are under Scribe's welcome message.

This is only the language Scribe writes in. Transcription recognizes the language of each voice message on its own, and the AI answers in the language of whoever asks, unless the admins set it to always use the group's language in 🎭 How the AI answers.

Your own language, the one of Scribe's private chat and of the secret messages you receive, is set with the flags under /start in the private chat with Scribe.

Set the time zone

Reminders follow the group's clock. Until an admin sets it, Scribe uses the one that goes with the group's language: UTC for English, the time of Rome, Madrid, Paris and Berlin for the others.

To set it, go to ⚙️ Settings → 🕐 Time zone and tap the button showing the right time now. There are 28 of them, from Honolulu to Auckland.

If someone sets a reminder before the time zone is chosen, the same buttons show up under Scribe's answer. When the time zone changes, pending reminders keep their time on the group's clock.

Who can change settings

All admins can change Scribe's settings. The group owner can keep them for themselves: ⚙️ Settings → 🔐 Who can change settings → Only the owner. Other admins see the choice but can't change it.

The same choice covers the language flags, the time zone buttons, turning on Premium with 💎 Turn on Premium here, and creating or removing automatic replies.

Anonymous admins count as admins, never as the owner.

When a button says no

• Only the group's admins can do this. You aren't an admin of the group.
• Only the group owner can change these settings. The owner chose to keep them for themselves.
