You don't need to open Lookup to search. In any Telegram chat, private or group, type @dglookbot followed by a username, an ID or a t.me link: the result card is sent right in that chat.
How to search from any chat
- In the message box of any chat, type
@dglookbotand a space. - Add what you're looking for, for example
@dglookbot @telegram, a numeric ID or a t.me link. - A row appears above the keyboard: 🔍 Look up @telegram. Tap it.
- Analyzing @telegram… is sent in the chat and, a moment later, becomes the Lookup card.
Nothing is searched while you type: the search starts only when you tap the row.
@doublegram_lookup_bot works the same way. @dglookbot is just shorter to type.
Who sees the result
The card is a message in the chat, so everyone in that chat sees it, marked "via @dglookbot". To check someone without anyone seeing, send the username to @doublegram_lookup_bot in private.
What you can search
- a username, with or without the @ (at least 5 characters)
- a numeric ID of a person, group or channel
- a t.me link, invite links included
Forwarded messages only work in the private chat with Lookup.
Searches and limits
You need a linked Doublegram account. Each card counts as a normal search, on the same counter as the private chat: 5 a day with the free account, unlimited with Premium. A search that finds nothing doesn't count.
If your account isn't linked, or today's searches are used up, you don't see the row but a bar above the results. Tap it to link your account or go Premium: what you typed is remembered, and the search runs in your private chat with Lookup as soon as you're done.
You can run up to 20 searches a minute.
Where it doesn't work
- Secret chats: there the card can't replace the message, so the bar takes you to search in private.
- Groups that block inline bots: it's a group permission, the same one as stickers and GIFs. Where it's off, the row can't be sent.
