Links copied from Telegram chats, websites, or QR codes are valid Lookup inputs. Paste the full URL (or partial t.me/…) into @doublegram_lookup_bot.
Link types Lookup understands
| Link pattern | Example | What it resolves |
|---|---|---|
| Public username | https://t.me/telegram |
User, bot, or public group/channel with @username |
| Invite link | https://t.me/+AbCdEfGh or t.me/joinchat/… |
Private group or channel (invite-only) |
| Private channel path | https://t.me/c/1234567890/42 |
Private supergroup/channel ID derived from the c/ path |
| telegram.me | https://telegram.me/username |
Same as t.me/username |
How to search
- Copy the link from Telegram (Share → Copy link) or from a browser.
- Paste it into private chat with Lookup — you can include other text; Lookup parses the URL.
- Wait for the analyzing line and result card.
Public vs invite: t.me/username is for public entities. t.me/+… is for invite-only chats — the bot may show limited preview data (see Lookup Private Telegram Groups and Channels).
What Lookup skips in links
When scanning text for a public username link, Lookup intentionally ignores:
t.me/+…invite paths (handled as invite links, not usernames)t.me/c/…private channel pathst.me/s/…shared post paths
Those patterns are routed to the correct resolver instead of being mistaken for a username.
Expected results by link type
Public t.me/username
Full card when Telegram exposes data: ID, type, title or name, username, bio/description, members count for chats.
Invite link (t.me/+…)
Often a ChatPreview style result: title, description, member count when available, and a Private group (invite link) privacy line. No public @username.
t.me/c/ numeric path
Lookup converts the path to a negative supergroup/channel ID (e.g. -100…) and queries that ID. Success depends on whether the resolution layer has access to that chat.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot access group/channel — The lookup account may need to be a member or have recent interaction with that chat. Try joining with the link first, then search again.
- Link pasted but no lookup — Ensure the URL is complete and contains a recognized pattern. Random shortened URLs outside t.me may not parse.
- Expired invite — Telegram rejects invalid invites; Lookup shows an error from Telegram.
Quick reference
- Paste: full or partial t.me / telegram.me URLs
- Invite links: t.me/+ or joinchat/
- Private paths: t.me/c/…
