How to search a Telegram username with Lookup

1. Open @doublegram_lookup_bot on Telegram.
2. Send the username, for example @durov. The @ is optional, so durov works too.
3. Lookup replies with the result.

Is the username inside a longer message? Paste the whole message: if the username has its @, or is a t.me link, Lookup finds it by itself.

What you'll find

It depends on what the username belongs to:

• A user: name, username, numeric ID, bio, when they were last seen, and whether they have Telegram Premium and a profile photo
• A bot: name, username and numeric ID, marked as a bot
• A group or channel: title, username, numeric ID, description and number of members

For all of them you also see whether Telegram has verified them and which Telegram data center they're on.

Lookup only shows what Telegram makes public, so some details may be missing. For example, if someone hides their last seen, you only see the rough range Telegram shows everyone, like recently.

Scam and fake account warnings

If Telegram has flagged the account as a scam or a fake, or has restricted it, Lookup tells you at the top of the result, with the reason when Telegram gives one. These warnings are always visible, even without an account.

Find a Telegram ID from a username

Every Telegram account has a numeric ID that stays the same even when the username changes. When Lookup finds a username, the result includes that ID.

It's useful when you need to tell apart two accounts with similar names, or to recognize an account after it changes username.

When a username can't be found

Lookup can only find public usernames. If a search returns nothing, usually:

• the owner changed or removed the username
• the username doesn't exist or has a typo

A search that finds nothing doesn't count toward your daily searches.

Searching by name alone doesn't work: you need a username, an ID, a link or a forwarded message.
