Can it post something without asking me?
No. Anything that publishes, schedules, changes or deletes something comes with a confirmation message first, and nothing happens until you confirm. An automation is confirmed once, when you create it, and you can pause it at any time from /automations.
Does it read my members' messages?
For the numbers, no: it counts who joins and leaves and who writes and when, never the text, and what Security stopped. It reads a group's messages only where Doublegram Scribe is in that group, for its admins, within Scribe's memory and rules.
Does it work inside my groups?
