Sometimes speaking is faster than typing in Telegram. The @DoublegramAIBot Telegram bot accepts voice messages (the round microphone button), converts them to text using Doublegram Scribe, and then processes your message like any normal chat — so you can ask questions, request content, or continue a conversation without typing.
This guide explains how voice transcription works and what to expect. Use it from @DoublegramAIBot in a private chat.
How to send a voice message
- Open @DoublegramAIBot.
- Hold the microphone button (voice message — not a video or audio file attachment).
- Speak your message, then release to send.
- The bot shows a brief listening status while it processes your voice.
- When transcription finishes, the bot continues with your request — usually an AI reply based on what you said.
You do not need to add text with the voice note. Just speak clearly and the bot handles the rest.
Try it: Send a voice message saying: Give me three ideas for a healthy lunch I can cook in 15 minutes.
What happens behind the scenes
When you send a voice note:
- The bot downloads the audio from Telegram.
- It sends the audio to Doublegram Scribe for speech-to-text transcription.
- The transcribed text replaces your voice message in the chat flow.
- The AI reads that text and responds — just as if you had typed it.
Transcription supports multiple languages. Speak in the language you want the bot to understand — for best results, match the language you use in your normal messages.
Credits and costs
Transcription itself is free — no credits are charged for converting your voice to text.
Credits apply only when the bot generates an AI response to your transcribed message, using the same rules as a normal text chat (cost depends on your selected text model). Check your model cost with /status and your balance with /credits.
Tips for better results
- Use voice messages — the round microphone button in Telegram. Regular audio file attachments are handled differently.
- Speak clearly — background noise and mumbling reduce accuracy.
- Keep it focused — one question or request per voice note works best.
- Private chat only — send voice notes directly to the bot, not in groups.
Tip: Record a voice note on your commute, get the transcription processed automatically, and read the AI reply when you have a moment — no typing required.
If transcription fails
If something goes wrong, the bot sends an error message and asks you to try again. Common fixes:
- Record a new voice message (avoid very long or silent recordings).
- Check your internet connection.
- Try again in a few seconds — the bot processes up to 5 voice messages at the same time across all users.
