Automatic Reply Content Types on Telegram

Automatic replies in Telegram groups support almost any message type — not just text. Reply to the content and use /reply keyword; @DoublegramScribeBot stores it and sends the same format when the keyword fires.

When you run /reply keyword in a Telegram group, @DoublegramScribeBot detects the type of the message you replied to and stores it accordingly. When the keyword triggers, the bot sends the same format back to the group.

Supported types

TypeWhat to reply toWhat members get
Text Plain text message Same text as a reply
Photo Image (with or without caption) Photo reposted as a reply
Video Video message Video reposted as a reply
Animated GIF GIF sent as document (image/gif) or certain .gif files Animation played in chat
Document PDF, file, spreadsheet, etc. Document file as a reply
Voice note Voice message (microphone button) Voice file as a reply
Audio Music/audio attachment Audio file as a reply

Not supported

  • Stickers — Cannot be saved as automatic replies
  • Polls — Not supported
  • Location / contact cards — Not supported
  • Native Telegram animations sent via the GIF picker — use GIF-as-document or video instead; only document-style GIFs are detected today
  • Albums / media groups — Reply to a single item, not the whole album

If Scribe shows Unsupported content type, pick a supported format or convert — e.g. send rules as text instead of a sticker.

How media is stored

For non-text replies, Scribe downloads the file from Telegram and stores it on the bot server. When the keyword fires, Scribe re-uploads the file to the group — members see the same media type, not a link.

Running /unreply keyword deletes the stored file for that trigger.

Tips by content type

Text

Best for links, rules, long FAQ blocks. Use Telegram formatting if needed — bold and links are preserved in plain text replies.

Photos and videos

Great for infographics, screenshots, demo clips. Put essential info in a separate text reply if the image alone is not searchable.

GIFs

For animated reactions or short loops — save GIFs sent as files/documents for reliable detection.

Voice and audio

Use voice notes for spoken instructions; audio files for music or podcasts. Members hear the same clip when they type the keyword.

Documents

PDFs, ZIPs, spreadsheets — useful for /reply handbook with a downloadable file.

Caption note: When you save a photo or video, Scribe stores the image/video file. Captions are not re-sent separately — include critical text in a dedicated text reply if members need to read it without opening media.

Quick reference

  • Supported: text, photo, video, GIF (document), document, voice, audio
  • Not supported: stickers, polls, locations
  • Setup: reply + /reply keyword
  • Media stored server-side until /unreply
