Web search is a core feature of @DoublegramAIBot in Telegram — it is listed on the /start welcome screen alongside chat, images, and voice transcription. You do not need another app or a special command: if your question needs fresh information from the internet, the Telegram bot searches for you.
There is no /search command. Ask in normal language in your private Telegram chat with @DoublegramAIBot, and the bot decides when to search.
How it works in chat
Before answering in Telegram, @DoublegramAIBot checks whether your message needs current information from the web. When it does:
- It builds a search query from your question (and recent chat context if needed).
- It searches using Perplexity — designed for live, source-backed answers.
- It combines search results with your chosen chat model's reply.
- It adds source links at the bottom when available.
Try it: Ask: What are the main tech news stories today? or Search online for the latest updates on electric cars.
What to ask
- Recent news — What happened in the markets today?
- Current events — Latest updates on…
- Live facts — Who won the game last night?
- Explicit search — Search on Google for… or Find recent articles about…
For crypto prices, the bot may use live market data directly — ask: What is Bitcoin trading at?
Follow-up questions
If you already discussed a topic, you can say search for more details or find more recent sources — the bot uses recent messages to know what to look up.
Sources in the reply
When web search runs, the bot often adds a Sources section with clickable links at the end of the message.
Credits
When web search runs successfully in chat, it adds 5 credits on top of your model cost for that message.
Web search in Automations
You can also enable Web Search when setting up an Automation (/start → Automations) so scheduled posts use fresh data. That toggle is configured per automation in the menu — still no /search command.
Remember: Web search is always available in chat. Ask naturally about today, latest, or search online — no command required.
