Your First Steps with the Telegram AI Bot

In Telegram, your private chat with @DoublegramAIBot is where Doublegram AI works best. Send /start for the welcome menu, /status to see your model and credits, and /language to change how the Telegram bot speaks to you — no group setup required.

Doublegram AI Bot is easiest to use in a private chat with the bot — not in a group. Open @DoublegramAIBot, and these three commands are all you need to get oriented: /start, /status, and /language.

This guide walks through each one step by step. You can follow it from scratch even if you have never used the bot before.

Before you begin

Commands like /start, /status, and /language work in your private conversation with Doublegram AI. If you type them in a group, the bot will not respond.

Quick start: Open Telegram → search @DoublegramAIBot → press Start. You are now in the right place.

/start — Open the bot and main menu

Send /start (or press the Start button when you first open the bot) to see the welcome message and the main menu.

The welcome screen lists what the bot can do — chat with multiple AI models, generate and analyze images, search the web, transcribe voice notes, run automations, and more. Below the text you will see buttons for the most common actions:

  • Get free credits — Appears if you have not claimed your welcome bonus yet. Tap it to link your Doublegram account and receive free AI credits.
  • Manual Post — Create a one-off AI post to send to a group, channel, or Discord.
  • Automations — Set up recurring AI tasks that run on a schedule.
  • Scheduled Posts — View and manage posts you have scheduled for later.
  • Settings — Open bot settings (model, temperature, and more).
  • Credits and Budget — Check your balance or set a spending limit.
  • Get AI Credits — Buy more credits when you need them.
  • Language flags — Five small flag buttons at the bottom let you switch the bot language instantly (Italian, English, Spanish, French, German).

You do not need to tap any button to start chatting. After /start, just type your question and the bot will reply.

Try it: Open @DoublegramAIBot, send /start, then type: Hello, what can you help me with today?

/status — Check your current setup

Send /status anytime to get a snapshot of how the bot is configured for you. The reply shows:

  • Active AI model — Which model is currently selected (for example GPT-5 or Claude Sonnet).
  • Credits per request — How many credits each message costs with your current model.
  • Available credits — Your current balance.
  • Budget — If you have set a spending limit, you will see how much of it you have used this period.
  • Conversation length — How many messages are in your current chat thread. Long conversations can slow responses; use /clear to reset when needed.
  • Language — The language used for bot menus and messages.

At the bottom, the status message also suggests quick actions — such as switching model with /model, clearing the chat with /clear, or checking credits with /credits.

Tip: Send /status before a long session to confirm you have enough credits and the right model selected for your task.

/language — Change the bot interface language

Send /language to open the language picker. Doublegram AI supports five languages:

  • English
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • French
  • German

Tap the language you want. The bot confirms the change and updates all menus and system messages to that language.

First-time users: When you open the bot for the first time, Doublegram AI automatically picks a language based on your Telegram app settings. If you see a small detection icon next to your language in /status, that means the bot auto-detected it — you can override it anytime with /language or the flag buttons on the /start screen.

Changing the interface language does not force the AI to reply in that language. To get answers in a specific language, simply ask in that language or say: Please reply in Spanish.

Try it: Send /language, tap your preferred language, then send /status to confirm the change.

Quick reference

  • /start — Welcome message and main menu with shortcuts
  • /status — Model, credits, budget, conversation length, and language
  • /language — Switch interface language (5 options)

That is enough to feel comfortable with the Telegram bot. When you are ready to go deeper, try /model to switch AI models or /credits to view your balance and buy more credits in Telegram.
